Things to do This Weekend in Salem Oregon–Chef’s Night Out
Chef’s Night Out is this weekend on October 3rd from 4-7 at Willamette Valley Vineyards. This is one of our favorite events of the year, and the best part is that it is the biggest yearly charity event for the Marion-Polk Food Share. So, you can have some fun and support the community at the same time. Tickets are $75 and you can order them by calling 503-581-3855, ext. 315, or you can stop by the Food Share to pick them up. All ticket proceeds go to provide food to families in need. Many sponsors make this possible with their donations.
What exactly is Chef’s Night Out? Well, it is a huge event, so huge that everyone parks down below the vineyard in the Enchanted Forest parking lot, and shuttles shuttle everyone up to the vineyard. Area restaurants, caterers, wineries and breweries gather to provide samples of some of the best food, wine and beer imaginable. This year there are around 46 participants. You can find a list of all participants on the Marion-Polk Food Share website, along with a list of the sponsors for this year’s event. There is also live music including the Severin Sisters. When you arrive at the winery you grab a small tray and a tasting glass. One you have those essentials, it’s time to make the rounds. Be sure to go hungry, as there is so much good food available, that you will want to try all of it. So far, I have not been able to try every booth, but maybe this year.
